Tokidoki has been one of my favorite design prints of all time. It has always been a dream of mine to visit their store for quite sometime. Fortunately, I had a chance to visit LA this summer, and one of my ‘must-visit’ places was of course, the Tokidoki LA store.
Tokidoki is a brand that has super cute kawaii print designs created by Italian artist Simone Legno. Tokidoki means ‘sometimes’ in Japanese. A word which Simone chose because of his love for Japan. Tokidoki has collaborated with numerous industries such as Hello Kitty, Marvel, LeSportsac, Smashbox Cosmetics, Skullcandy, Karl Lagerfeld and many others.
The Tokidoki LA store is located in Melrose Avenue, a very famous street for trendy shops, cafes and restaurants. It’s easy to spot the Tokidoki store since the window displays have very big, colorful and fun character decals, as well as the giant Mozzarella figurine.

As I walk in, the first thing that caught my attention was the vibrant back-wall design. It had a very lively and trendy appeal making everything fit in its perfect place. The shop had items such as – shirts, figurines, caps, skate boards, bags, dolls and so many other cute things.
During my visit, the collaboration designs available where – Ju Ju Be, Marvels, JapanLA, Pullip, and Karl Lagerfeld. They also had Unicorno, Cactus Kitties, and Frenzies blind boxes. And a sale rack near the counter (mostly shirts for 50% off).

Prior to visiting the Tokidoki LA shop, I contacted Tokidoki to let them know that I would like to visit and write an article about their store. And thankfully, they granted my request. It’s fun to be able to share a cool experience with everyone especially those who love kawaii culture.

I have been a fan of Tokidoki since 2007 (around the first collaboration with LeSportsac) and still am. I can’t wait to see more of their upcoming items and collaborations.
At the moment, the Tokidoki LA is their only exclusive store in the world.
